Software Developer Flight Simulation

Become part of our forward-looking team in unmanned aviation systems and drive the development of state-of-the-art simulation environments. You will actively shape the future of flight simulation by designing innovative solutions for flight mechanics, flight control and complex sensor systems.

• Developing software for flight simulation in our innovative projects
• Developing, integrating, testing and tuning precise flight models
• Designing and building SiL and HiL simulation environments using embedded and real-time systems on modern platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson
• Close collaboration with teams in flight physics, flight control, visual-based navigation, systems engineering, mission planning and system integration
• Developing and running automated tests to ensure the highest product quality and successful qualification

• Completed degree in aerospace engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, robotics or similar
• Practical experience in software development, ideally in flight simulation, autonomous systems, robotics or embedded systems
• Experience developing software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop simulation environments
• Experience with Docker and containerized simulation environments
• Knowledge of developing and integrating sensors and sensor models, especially for imaging sensors, IMU, GNSS or similar systems
• Experience with Gazebo, Isaac Sim, AirSim, FlightGear, JSBSim or similar simulation frameworks
• Basic knowledge of flight physics and flight mechanics
• Basic knowledge of PX4, ROS 2 or MAVLink is an advantage
• Very good software development skills in Matlab, Simulink, Python and/or C++
• Good German and English skills, spoken and written
• Analytical thinking, strong problem-solving skills, teamwork and quality awareness for safety-critical applications
• Willingness to travel worldwide
