Job Description: The Ausbildung as an industrial mechanic (Industriemechanikerin or Industriemechaniker) in combination with the dual eight-semester degree program Maschinenbau PLuS connects theory and practice. In the first five semesters, the Ausbildung as an industrial mechanic with a specialization in precision mechanics takes place parallel to the university studies. It includes an intensive basic Ausbildung in mechanical engineering and, in the seventh semester, a specialization in one of the offered areas of focus.

Ausbildung Duration: The Ausbildung as an industrial mechanic lasts two and a half years. For the dual degree program, parallel enrollment at the Fachhochschule Aachen in the Bachelor's degree program Maschinenbau PLuS takes place. This allows for the additional acquisition of a Bachelor of Engineering degree after a total of four years. The study content taught corresponds to that of the regular mechanical engineering program at Fachhochschule Aachen.

Company Ausbildung: The company Ausbildung takes place in the workshops of the respective university institutions. It is supplemented at the Berufsausbildungszentrum für Mechanik of RWTH Aachen and through an additional course program.

School Ausbildung: Vocational school classes take place one day a week at Berufskolleg Jülich at Bongardstraße 15 in 52428 Jülich.

• School-leaving qualification: Full vocational technical college entrance qualification, including practical experience, or general university entrance qualification

• Personal requirements: spatial imagination, technical understanding, manual dexterity, aptitude test passed with at least a good grade (at least 81 points)
• Aptitude test: Yes. Passing the test (at least 81 points) is a prerequisite for access to the further selection process.

• Examination: Parts 1 and 2 are taken before the Industrie- und Handelskammer Aachen. The degree is obtained at the Fachhochschule Aachen, Jülich department.
