Apprenticeship as a Medical Assistant (MFA)

The apprenticeship covers patient care, assisting with treatments, data processing, preparation for examinations and surgery, appointment coordination, materials management, laboratory work, medication management, hygiene and sterilization.

• Care for patients before, during and after treatment.
• Assist with medical therapy and apply support and wound dressings.
• Receive and process patient data electronically.
• Prepare medical examinations and treatments.
• Prepare patients for surgical procedures, treat wounds and remove suture material.
• Coordinate patient appointments and compile treatment documents.
• Order and manage goods and materials.
• Conduct laboratory tests and classify and forward laboratory data and test results.
• Store and monitor medicines, vaccines, dressings and medical aids.
• Carry out hygiene measures and sterilize equipment and instruments.
