Upper Secondary Graduate Programme – Certified Retail Specialist

A three-year upper secondary graduate programme combining an accelerated apprenticeship as a retail sales specialist, subsequent further training as a certified retail specialist and an instructor qualification under AEVO. Practical training takes place five days a week in different shifts and is supplemented by ten two-week seminars.

You build retail knowledge in sales, product ranges and processes, advise customers in the store and handle digital customer enquiries. You support area managers with daily tasks, contribute your own ideas, work independently and take part in practical projects such as the apprentice project week or apprentice store.

Upper secondary school leaving certificate or equivalent by the start of the apprenticeship; openness, commitment and strong communication skills; sense of responsibility, assertiveness and ambition; mobility and flexibility to work in different stores; enthusiasm for retail, ideally with initial experience from a part-time job or internship.

Graduated pay of €1,280 from months 1 to 12, €1,425 from month 13 and €2,400 from around month 19 after passing the IHK retail qualification, plus pro rata holiday and Christmas bonuses; all costs for training and further education at BZE in Springe covered, including travel, accommodation and meals; mobility bonus of up to €30 net per month; six weeks of annual leave; personal buddy; product, systems, sales and soft-skills training; projects and management responsibilities; 15% discount at OBI and obi.de; discounted company bike.
