Theoretical part: Lectures at the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences in Gelsenkirchen. Various modules such as mathematics, physics, materials engineering, mechanics, heating technology and sanitary engineering. Practical part: Several practical phases at the real estate management in Essen. In the field of technical building services, the real estate management is responsible for technical project execution, implementation of construction measures and technical building maintenance in all municipal buildings to ensure operation and sustainable usability.

Define planning objectives with regard to costs and technical possibilities. Make buildings more energy-efficient and sustainable. Identify necessary work to preserve property value, maintain operations or upon tenant request. Supervise the execution of construction work and hand it over afterwards. Take care of technical systems and ensure that buildings remain safe, functional and economical. Coordinate cooperation with various departments and, if necessary, external companies.

Abitur or full university of applied sciences entrance qualification. Access to the study program is also possible for applicants qualified in vocational education: access via professional advancement training (e.g. master craftsman's certificate, technical school degrees), access via relevant vocational training and at least three years of relevant professional experience, access via an entrance examination for non-relevant vocational training and at least three years of professional experience.
