Apprenticeship as an IT Systems Electronics Technician

You will learn the theoretical foundations at the vocational school in Aachen, and take your final examination before the Aachen Chamber of Industry and Commerce. The apprenticeship lasts three years but can be shortened by agreement.

• Planning, installing and commissioning IT systems and their infrastructure
• Setting up, connecting and configuring servers, network components, clients and peripheral devices
• Installing and testing copper and fiber-optic network cabling and helping build the WAN/LAN infrastructure
• Installing power supplies for IT systems and carrying out electrical safety tests according to VDE/DGUV V3
• Finding and fixing faults in hardware, networks and power supplies
• Supporting the maintenance of server rooms and virtualization hardware
• Communicating with users and helping them use IT

• At least an advanced technical college entrance qualification or general university entrance qualification
• Good English skills
• Good technical understanding and an interest in electrical engineering and IT systems
• Enjoyment of practical work and no hesitation around cables, measuring devices and server racks
• Careful and conscientious way of working
