Working Student in Ultrashort Pulse Components, Summer Semester 2027

A working student role at TRUMPF in Schramberg in ultrashort pulse components for the summer semester of 2027. You support laser, component and application development and gain practical experience in technical projects.

• Help address current and future questions in laser, component or application development
• Contribute to projects involving disk, slab and fibre lasers, from continuous operation to ultrashort pulses
• Independently take on parts of setting up and carrying out experiments, simulations and analyses
• Help projects move forward by interpreting experimental results
• Use your analytical skills to develop models, possible solutions and recommendations for action

• You are studying laser technology, physics, engineering physics, photonics, optoelectronics, electrical engineering or a comparable subject
• Ideally, you have some theoretical or practical experience in laser technology and/or its use in materials processing
• You work in a structured, careful and independent way, have analytical and planning skills, and learn quickly
• You show initiative when working in a team and communicate well
• You are confident using MS Office and have some programming experience, for example in Matlab, Python or LabView
