Hygiene Specialist / Health and Nursing Care Professional for Further Training to Hygiene Specialist

Since the appointment of a W3 professorship for Clinical Hygiene on 1 October 2023, the field of Hygiene and Environmental Medicine has been academically anchored in teaching and research at the Medical Faculty of Kiel University through the cross-campus Institute for Hospital and Environmental Hygiene, and integrated into hospital hygiene in patient care at the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH). The Institute for Hospital and Environmental Hygiene is organized across campuses, with tasks at the Kiel and Lübeck sites performed by a team of experienced hygienists and hygiene specialists. UKSH's hospital hygiene focuses primarily on the prevention of nosocomial infections in clinics and patient care areas at the Kiel and Lübeck campuses. Join our team and support us at the earliest possible date in a permanent employment relationship if you already hold the hygiene specialist qualification, or initially for a fixed term of 2 years if the specialist further training has not yet been completed. The place of duty is Kiel. Occasional activities at the Lübeck site are required.

Versatile activity in a team of hygiene specialists, scientific staff, and physicians at the Kiel and Lübeck sites; Science-oriented environment with diverse projects and opportunities for development and networking to realize own ideas, possibility of engagement in clinical research, and participation in teaching and training of students; Practice-oriented advice to all UKSH departments on all hygiene issues as well as co-design, assurance, and monitoring of all infection prevention measures; Conducting training and compliance observations; Data collection for recording nosocomial infections and their processing and presentation in cooperation with the hospital hygienist and the microbiological laboratory

Completed training as a health and nursing care professional (male/female) with at least 3 years of professional experience in a hospital; Completed specialist further training as a 'state-recognized hygiene specialist' or 'specialist health and nursing care professional for hygiene and infection prevention' or willingness to complete the qualification within the next 3 years; Friendliness, sense of responsibility, and communication skills in dealing with colleagues; Independent and structured way of working and enjoyment of interprofessional collaboration; Good IT skills in MS Office products and willingness to learn hygiene-specific software
