Medical Assistant, Intensive Care Ward Support

UKSH is seeking a medical assistant to support the intensive care ward in Nursing Division 3 at its Kiel campus. This permanent position starts as soon as possible.

• Support nursing staff with everyday ward organisation and administration and ensure telephone calls are answered
• Register, coordinate and prepare appointments, consultations and patient transport, including any necessary preparation and follow-up of records
• Handle patient admissions and discharges, record patient data in the computer system and order medical supplies
• Retrieve test results, request results from other providers and sort them
• Prepare blood samples to be taken and carry out blood draws where required

• Completed training as a medical assistant, doctor's assistant or dental assistant
• Confident use of common MS Office applications and a hospital information system
• Ability to work independently, reliably and in an organised way
• Flexibility to work the usual hours required in the department
• Interest in ongoing training and learning new skills
