Coding assistant (m/f/d) with or without professional experience in medical controlling at the University Hospital Würzburg (Division 3 Finance and Controlling, Department 3.3 Patient Service/Medical Controlling). Start: 01.01.2027. Part-time, fixed-term. Application deadline: 27.11.2026.

Coding of diagnoses and procedures based on medical documentation using AI-supported software. Exchange with involved professional groups on documentation and coding. Monitoring of complete encryption. Grouping of case data into a diagnosis-related group (DRG) or for outpatient coding. Processing of MD and health insurance fund inquiries. Preparation, participation, and follow-up of MD inspections.

Completed training in healthcare as a medical assistant, medical documentation assistant, or nursing specialist – preferably with clinical experience in pediatrics and internal medicine. Practical knowledge of ICD and OPS catalogs, coding guidelines, and hospital-specific billing regulations. Good IT skills (SAP-ISH desirable). Quick comprehension, high motivation and reliability. Teamwork and sense of responsibility.
