About this Apprenticeship

As a safety officer, you make an important contribution to safe and reliable public transport in Frankfurt. With your presence, sense of responsibility, and service-oriented demeanor, you ensure that our passengers always feel well taken care of.

What You'll Learn

You ensure safety and order at our stations and enforce the regulations confidently and service-oriented. You are on site, identify potential risks early, and actively contribute to protecting our infrastructure. As a local contact person, you assist our passengers with information on timetables, fares, connections, and questions about Frankfurt. Your daily work brings you into contact with a wide variety of people in different life situations, and you act confidently, respectfully, and de-escalating even in conflict situations. In emergencies and exceptional situations, you keep a cool head, provide first aid, and coordinate support from rescue services, police, or fire department as needed. At major events such as football matches, concerts, or trade fairs, you work as a team to ensure safe and smooth passenger transport.

Requirements

You have completed vocational training in a commercial or security-related field and are characterized by a high level of service and customer orientation. You communicate confidently and politely in German, both verbally and in writing. Additional language skills are welcome. Ideally, you already have initial experience in security, service, or customer environments. You hold a valid class B driver's license. Even in critical situations, you remain calm, prudent, and solution-oriented. You have already successfully passed the proficiency test according to § 34a GewO or are willing to acquire it as part of our basic training course.

What We Offer

We offer you an employment contract with collectively agreed remuneration according to TV-N Hessen and other attractive additional benefits: look forward to an annual special payment, a performance bonus, shift allowances and surcharges – and a free premium job ticket. As part of our company pension scheme, you are insured with the ZVK (Supplementary Pension Fund of the City of Frankfurt am Main) in addition to the statutory pension insurance. In a 12-week basic training course, you will receive, among other things, fire protection, de-escalation, and equipment training (including the §34a proficiency test). You can expect fixed deployment times for the whole year in a plannable 4/2 shift model (night/late/early) with a 38-hour week. Recreation is also important: you are entitled to 34 days of vacation per calendar year! After passing the probationary period, you have access to over 10,000 fitness and wellness facilities with the employer-subsidized EGYM Wellpass. For leisure time outside work, regular raffles of tickets for cultural and sports events are provided. With our version of a mini adult education center, the VGF Academy, you can expect further personal and professional development opportunities – true to the motto: you invest your time, we cover the costs! We also support the compatibility of work and private life. We have been certified with the audit berufundfamilie certificate since 2016.
