Operating Room Assistant Training (OTA) starting 1 April 2027

Three-year training as an operating room assistant combining classroom teaching with practical placements at Vivantes hospitals. The program offers varied duties in operating rooms, outpatient departments, endoscopy and central sterilization.

A wide range of duties in operating rooms, outpatient departments, endoscopy and central sterilization; assisting with the preparation, performance and follow-up of medical diagnosis and treatment in the operating room; comprehensive care for patients.

University entrance qualification, advanced technical college entrance qualification, intermediate school-leaving certificate or equivalent; alternatively, an extended lower secondary certificate with one year of training as a nursing assistant or another vocational qualification lasting at least two years; recognition of foreign qualifications and B2 German may be required; physical and mental fitness; basic MS Word and PowerPoint skills; proof of measles immunity; a two-week operating room placement is desirable.

Training pay of €1,490.69 gross in the first year, €1,552.07 in the second year and €1,653.38 in the third year; laptop at the start of training; 38.5-hour working week; 30 days of annual leave; annual special payment; €400 gross completion bonus; guaranteed employment after successful completion; capital-forming benefits and additional company pension.
