SAP Project Manager - Public Sector

SAP Public Projects: You are responsible for large IT/SAP projects and programs in the public sector – from implementation or migration to SAP S/4HANA to consolidation, replacement, or expansion of existing SAP system landscapes. Functional SAP Solutions: The introduction and further development of SAP solutions in financial processes, receivables and revenue management, and human capital management are your responsibility. Cross-cutting topics: You consider electronic invoicing (e.g., XRechnung, ZUGFeRD) and integration with DMS and workflows in projects and coordinate closely with subject matter experts – without taking on a technical specialist role yourself. Integration & Interfaces: You control the integration of specialized applications and third-party systems into SAP, e.g., via SAP PO/PI or web services (SOAP), including interface design, testing, acceptance, and handover to operations. Project Management: You assume full project management from planning and control through budget and risk management to coordination of IT, specialist departments (finance, HR, specialist units), and external service providers. Control & Reporting: You prepare decision documents and status reports for management, committees, and steering committees in a target-group-oriented manner and ensure transparent project control.

SAP Public Experience: At least 5 years of responsibility in leading complex IT/SAP projects in the public sector qualify you for this role. Functional SAP Expertise: Proven experience in at least two, ideally three areas such as SAP FI/CO, SAP PSCD or comparable public sector solutions, SAP HCM, or SAP S/4HANA (implementation, migration, transformation programs) characterizes your profile. Integration & Methods: You integrate specialized applications and third-party systems into SAP (SAP PO/PI, web services/SOAP, interface concepts, test management) and are proficient in requirements, test, and change management (e.g., SAP Solution Manager / Focused Build or comparable tools). Project & Program Management: Clear project or program management responsibility in previous roles, combined with experience in classic, hybrid, and/or agile methodologies – ideally including SAP Activate – round off your management profile. Stakeholder & Committee Management: Collaboration with specialist departments (finance, HR, specialist units), IT, staff representation, data protection, and information security, as well as target-group-oriented communication with authority management, management, steering committees, and possibly political committees are familiar to you. Communication Strength: You prepare complex matters understandably and communicate fluently in German.
