Apprenticeship as a CNC Machining Mechanic

The apprenticeship begins with basic training at the Nordhessen Vocational Training Center in Kassel and attendance days at Airbus. From the second year onward, trainees work in a two-shift system in manufacturing, assembly, the measurement room and quality assurance at the Calden site. They acquire comprehensive knowledge and skills for working as a CNC machining mechanic.

• Reading and handling technical documents
• Manufacturing and maintaining components and assemblies
• Setting up, converting and programming CNC machine tools
• Identifying and resolving problems and their causes in technical systems
• Using special tools for manufacturing
• Ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards in accordance with aviation regulations
• Documenting completed work and preparing measurement reports

• At least a good lower secondary school certificate, intermediate secondary school certificate or university of applied sciences entrance qualification/university entrance qualification
• Manual dexterity and an interest in technology
• Good spatial awareness
• Familiarity with common MS Office programs
• Teamwork, reliability and a careful working style
• Very good German skills, at least basic English skills and willingness to improve them
