- Duration: 6 months ## Your Location You work at the largest production site for civil aircraft in Hamburg. Due to its location on the southern bank of the Elbe, there is the possibility of commuting by ferry. Experience the special flair of Hamburg in your free time, where vibrant cosmopolitan culture meets nautical heritage. You wonder how you actually get from university to Airbus? Your working student position is located at the plant in Finkenwerder and you can take the ferry from Teufelsbrück to the Airbus ferry terminal in the morning and from noon back to university. Alternatively, you take the ferry to Finkenwerder and then cycle about 15 minutes to the main entrance.
What You'll Learn
- ## Your Tasks and Responsibilities
- Development of predictive maintenance models: Mathematical modeling of the dynamic filter clogging behavior (avionics and recirculation filters) based on in-service operational data and system pressure losses for the A320, A350 and A380 models.
- Coupling of environmental and fleet data: Integration of global reanalysis data (e.g. Copernicus atmospheric data) into the simulation to correlate regional dust loads with the actually observed pressure increase in flight operations.
- Test planning & dust tests: Preparation, supervision and evaluation of test bench investigations on filters using various standard dusts to validate model assumptions.
- System simulation of ventilation circuits: Simulation of the interaction between fan performance, system resistance and clogging filter media using existing test bench and telemetry data.
- Predictive maintenance strategies: Transfer of the simulation results obtained to other system architectures to optimize filter change intervals and remaining service life forecasts.
Requirements
- ## Required Knowledge and Qualifications
- Enrolled full-time student (d/m/w) in mechanical engineering or a comparable field of study.
- First practical experience in the field of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
- Excellent command of English (negotiation level).
