As an apprentice at "Marien" you are a full-fledged member of our radiology team from day one: patient support, high-tech & medicine, organization. The 3-year MTR apprenticeship splits into four areas: radiology, radiation therapy, nuclear medicine, and radiation physics, dosimetry, and radiation protection. Practical phases mainly in the Clinic for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology; theory taught in blocks at the Education Center for Nursing and Health (BZPG) in Würselen.

Patient support: Accompany patients from admission through data maintenance to examination. High-tech & medicine: Learn the technical implementation of state-of-the-art examination methods (e.g., X-ray, MRI, CT). Organization: Document services rendered and ensure medical supplies are always available. Practical phases in the Clinic for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology; for radiation therapy and nuclear medicine at cooperation partners. Theory lessons in blocks at the BZPG in Würselen.

School leaving certificate: At least a secondary school diploma (Realschulabschluss) OR a lower secondary school diploma (Hauptschulabschluss) combined with a successfully completed vocational training of at least two years. Age: At least 16 years old at the start of the apprenticeship (01.09.2027). Language skills: Fluent German in word and writing (language level C1). Skills & interests: Good grades in natural sciences (physics, biology), eloquence, and genuine enjoyment in dealing with people and state-of-the-art technology.

Top remuneration according to collective agreement: 1st apprenticeship year €1,365.24 gross, 2nd year €1,425.30 gross, 3rd year €1,522.03 gross (as of 05/2026).
