Civil Engineer Road Planning and Design

Autobahn GmbH des Bundes is looking for a civil engineer for road planning and design in Karlsruhe. The work involves planning and designing traffic facilities on federal motorways. Pay follows pay grade E12.

• Planning and design of federal motorway traffic facilities in all service phases, including drainage, road equipment and basic technical calculations
• Carrying out preliminary investigation, clarifying the task and preparing technically and economically coordinated road designs
• Coordinating all internal and external project participants and reviewing planning, design and tender documents
• Project management responsible for deadlines, costs, quality, managing own and external projects and supporting construction execution
• Preparing, reviewing and handling award and engineering contracts including bid evaluation and budget-law support
• Coordination and negotiation with authorities, associations and public stakeholders and preparing statements for approval and legal procedures

• Completed degree in civil engineering (Dipl.-Ing. (FH) / Bachelor) with a focus on road planning, or comparable qualifications and experience
• Sound expertise in road planning and confident handling of relevant laws, guidelines and standards (e.g. RAA, REwS, RiStWag, HOAI, VgV, HVA‑F‑StB)
• Several years of professional experience in planning and handling road construction projects
• Experience with CAD software for road design (iTWO civil, CARD/1, VESTRA‑CAD)
• Negotiation-level German skills at level C2 (CEFR).
• Class B driving licence
• Desirable: Very good knowledge of MS Office
