Tech trainee

Axel Springer's 18-month tech trainee programme offers rotations through bonial, Head Office, BILD and the PREMIUM GROUP. You start in technology, deepen your technical focus and learn about different media brands and business models. A placement abroad may be possible.

• Build and deepen your AI knowledge, from prompting and AI agents to practical automation and machine learning applications
• Identify opportunities for AI and automation in existing processes and actively advance the shift to AI
• Develop and prototype your own solutions using vibe coding and modern AI-assisted development tools
• Prepare technical analyses, business cases and KPI reviews to support technology investment decisions
• Support quality assurance, testing and the rollout of new product features across different business units

• Completed master's degree with a technical focus, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Business Informatics or a comparable subject
• Good understanding of app and product development, with an interest in user experience and digital business models
• Initial practical programming experience and a solid technical foundation, such as web and app architectures, APIs and databases
• Confident use of AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude Code, ideally also agents in Claude, Codex or similar tools
• A proactive, independent approach to solving problems and enthusiasm for quickly learning new technologies
• Business-fluent German and English
