The "Global Business Services" unit supports BASF's business divisions with a cross-functional network and provides modern, needs-based solutions. As a specialized service unit, we stand for high customer orientation and design our services in a partnership-based, efficient, and forward-looking manner.

• You increase transparency regarding new laws, regulations, and customs agreements and initiate and define regionally binding GB policies to ensure compliance with customs requirements and legal provisions.
• You proactively engage in the Customs Communities of Practice to ensure that globally defined processes are consistently followed.
• Furthermore, you lead and coordinate the Operating Division Community on customs topics and serve as the central contact person for business units on decisions regarding business model alignment from a customs perspective.
• Additionally, you closely coordinate legal and regulatory activities with the Process Design Team to implement necessary changes in the process landscape and coordinate with the BASF Corporate Center and local customs authorities.
• You actively monitor court decisions and transfer their impact to the operational setup of BASF EMEA (e.g., customs classification, preferential origin, free trade agreements, follow-up activities).
• Finally, you assume the role of project coordination for customs topics within Customs EMEA and develop and deliver regulatory training for operational customs teams in EMEA.

• Completed bachelor's degree in foreign trade or a comparable field; ideally supplemented by legal knowledge, especially in foreign trade law
• Several years of professional experience in customs and trade
• Effective communication in German and English as well as presentation and consulting skills
• Assertiveness and the will to succeed together and meet the needs of service recipients
• Ideally knowledge of Power BI as well as SAP GTS, SAP R/3 & S/4HANA
