Account Manager Coatings

As the European sales organization of the BASF Group, BTC Europe distributes highly refined specialty and fine chemicals to international customers in numerous industries. • In your new position, you are responsible for the proactive and regular maintenance of customer relationships, support all decision-makers from the areas of Industrial Coating General, Architectural Coating, and Construction Material, and document your activities professionally in Salesforce.
• You drive budgeting with customers forward, develop account plans, monitor deviations, and take early measures to achieve or exceed your financial goals.
• Your expertise is needed for the acquisition of new customers and business, controlling cross-selling opportunities, conducting customer negotiations, and coordinating internal preparations with SCM, R&D, Customer Service, and other teams.
• In addition, you identify and realize new technical and commercial business opportunities, deliver solutions for customer problems, and live the CSO tandem by managing samples, NCM cases, and payment issues.
• Last but not least, you represent BTC in the local industry environment, work with BASF contacts, support digitalization initiatives, and continuously expand your knowledge of products, industry trends, and compliance requirements.

• Master's degree in chemistry or another technical or commercial field; alternatively a technical-chemical vocational training (e.g. chemical laboratory technician or chemical technician) plus many years of professional experience in a comparable sales function
• Several years of professional experience in the coatings industry, ideally including application technology and practical sales experience
• Sound knowledge in the areas of price management, Salesforce application, customer project support, and the development of commercial and technical solutions
• Very good German and advanced English skills as well as confident handling of Salesforce and common IT applications
• Excellent communication skills, a growth-oriented mindset, team spirit, intercultural competence, and a proactive, customer-oriented way of working
• High willingness to travel in the DACH region
