Dual Study Program in Media Design in Design Production

The dual media design program takes place in Bayerischer Rundfunk’s design production department. The department creates graphics and visual formats for television, online services and various ARD programs. The program covers graphic design and typography, multimedia and motion design, usually lasts six semesters and leads to a Bachelor of Arts. Practical phases take place in Munich-Freimann, while the theory phase is held at the Ravensburg Cooperative State University.

Visualizing design ideas; creating illustrations, image edits and animations within the corporate design; developing format and explanatory graphics; working closely with the graphics team, other departments and editorial teams; creating style guides; preparing and delivering presentations.

Abitur or a university of applied sciences entrance qualification with the required DHBW aptitude test; a strong sense of aesthetics and passion for visual design; teamwork skills and a logical, structured approach; a good understanding of color and form; enjoyment of design and presentations; ideally initial experience creating animated graphics or screen designs; basic familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
