Apprenticeship as a Building Materials Tester, Asphalt Technology

Bergische University Wuppertal offers an apprenticeship in its civil engineering laboratory as a building materials tester specializing in asphalt technology. The training covers testing and assessing asphalt and other construction materials using physical and chemical methods.

Preparing, collecting and producing samples at construction sites; determining the physical and chemical properties of construction materials; preparing and evaluating test reports; determining soil properties and soil parameters; independently carrying out construction-material tests; testing inorganic binders; creating asphalt mixtures and testing asphalt.

Successful school-leaving qualification with at least satisfactory grades in mathematics and physics; enjoyment of learning and creating; openness to new technologies; native-level German or a C1 certificate under the CEFR.
