Measurement Technology Engineer (fixed-term for 2 years)

Ensuring stability of measurement processes in Optical Engineering; developing and optimizing measurement strategies for optical components and manufacturing processes; identifying new measurement methods; defining requirements for measuring equipment and test procedures; supporting quotation, prototype and series production processes; cross-functional collaboration; documentation and training; project responsibility for new measurement and manufacturing technologies; driving digitalization of measurement processes.

• Ensuring stability of relevant measurement processes in Optical Engineering; systematic root cause analysis and appropriate countermeasures for deviations
• Development, evaluation and optimization of measurement strategies for optical components and manufacturing processes – focus on reproducible measurement results, process capability and reliable decision-making bases
• Identification of new or improved measurement methods; support of trials and transfer of approved solutions into series production
• Definition of requirements for measuring equipment, fixtures, evaluation logics and test procedures; technical preparation of investment requirements and support of implementation, acceptance and handover to production
• Support of quotation, prototype and series ramp-up processes through technical evaluation of drawings, specifications, customer requirements and manufacturability aspects
• Close cooperation with production, work preparation, development, quality, purchasing, SCM and suppliers; representing metrological perspective in cross-functional projects
• Documentation of relevant measurement processes, standards and lessons learned; qualification of users through training or technical instruction as needed
• Independent assumption of work packages, sub-project responsibility or project management for introduction of new measurement and manufacturing technologies
• Driving digitalization of measurement processes: data-driven evaluations, automated reports, digital standards/templates; close cooperation with software and IT teams

• Completed degree in natural sciences or engineering (e.g. measurement technology, optics/photonics, mechanical engineering, physics, precision engineering, industrial engineering) or equivalent qualification
• Solid practical experience in industrial metrology, optical manufacturing, production metrology, process development or production engineering; project management experience an advantage
• Good understanding of measurement chains, measurement uncertainty, repeatability and comparability, test planning and statistical evaluation of measurement and process data
• Knowledge of optical manufacturing and test procedures as well as selection, qualification and series transfer of measurement methods and equipment
• Proficient application of structured problem-solving methods (e.g. root cause analysis, design of experiments, risk assessment, sustainable process stabilization)
• Strong interface competence, clear technical communication and ability to prepare complex issues for target audiences
• Independent, analytical and solution-oriented way of working with high quality standards
• Fluent German, good English written and spoken
