Process Engineer Grinding

ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology is a technology leader in semiconductor manufacturing equipment. As a process engineer you develop new methods for grinding optical components in pre-production and act as the link between development and manufacturing.

• You develop new methods for grinding optical components in pre-production and are the direct contact for the manufacturing teams
• As the communication and technical link between development and manufacturing, you support series production processes and provide on-site second level support
• You ensure that new equipment and processes are suitable for manufacturing and work with suppliers to find ways to optimise the grinding processes
• You prepare cost-effectiveness assessments of new methods and technologies, considering future requirements and strategic company goals
• You support technological changes in terms of cost, time and quality, including schedules and process plans, monitoring project progress and advising departments on procurement

• Successfully completed master's degree in an engineering or natural science discipline with relevant practical experience in the optics industry (min. 3 years)
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience in series operation of machine tools and in the relevant production processes of the optical industry
• A structured and rational mindset that keeps priorities in view even in unclear situations
• A determined and responsible way of working, high resilience and a strong hands-on attitude
• The ability to assert yourself and act as a mediator between different stakeholders
• Good German and English skills
