Shift Supervisor - 10 Positions

ZEISS is recruiting several shift supervisors for the manufacture of highly precise optical components. Production includes grinding, turning, polishing, measuring and coating optics for the semiconductor industry.

• Ensure production runs smoothly according to the production plan, compare targets with actual results in management discussions and shopfloor meetings, take suitable action and initiate maintenance.
• Provide technical leadership for your team, prepare shift schedules, coordinate staffing and support training and performance assessments together with the team leader.
• Actively develop your employees, identify training needs, agree on development measures and follow through on their lasting implementation.
• Ensure consistent compliance with company requirements, address deviations early and escalate issues appropriately when needed.
• Take responsibility for compliance with all relevant workplace safety regulations, manage measures in Quentic and actively participate in safety inspections.
• Ensure high product quality, analyse quality deviations, identify improvements and drive their lasting implementation through PDCA processes.

• You have completed technical vocational training, ideally with further training as a technician or master craftsperson, or hold a comparable qualification.
• You have several years of experience as a shift supervisor or in a similar leadership role within an industrial company.
• You also have experience identifying employees' training needs and supporting their lasting development.
• You are motivated to take on responsibility for directing staff and demonstrate empathy, tact and a strong sense of responsibility when working with employees.
• You remain calm in demanding situations, communicate respectfully and handle conflict and feedback constructively.
• You confidently apply LEAN methods in manufacturing, combining them with business awareness, organisational skills and structured time management.
• You have very good German and good English skills, both spoken and written.
