Bachelor of Engineering – Electrical Engineering Automation 2027 Specialization: Functional Safety & Cyber Security

Cerdia Group, headquartered in Basel, is a global chemical company and quality and innovation leader in cellulose acetate flakes and tow. At the Freiburg site with approximately 770 employees, we train for the Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering Automation. Automation engineers plan and maintain programmable logic controllers and process control systems, create requirement analyses and functional specifications, assemble and network electrically controlled machines. Theoretical phases at DHBW Lörrach cover fundamentals of electrical engineering, computer science, digital technology, electronics; specialization in development and project planning of automated plants, programming, bus systems, control engineering, microprocessor technology, business fundamentals, project management, soft skills. Practical phases: one-month dual preparatory study, technical basic training in training workshop, IT department, maintenance workshops, own projects in engineering automation. Program starts 1 October 2027, duration 3 years / 6 semesters.

Plan and maintain programmable logic controllers and process control systems; create requirement analyses and functional specifications; assemble and network electrically controlled machines and systems; work in measurement and testing, quality assurance, commissioning and maintenance of large-scale plants; participate in theoretical and practical phases at DHBW Lörrach and in the company
