Chemical Plant Operator, Day Shift, BIL Plant

At Covestro's Basic Isocyanate plant (BIL) in Leverkusen, we develop and produce substances that make end products more attractive and more durable. The position is paid under pay group E7 of the federal collective pay agreement for the chemical industry.

• Help carry out plant shutdowns and scheduled work
• Record technical faults independently as SAP notifications and consult your manager in case of special incidents
• Prepare and carry out maintenance measures and support external parties in handling maintenance
• Take on the role of safety watch (m/f/d) for work requiring a permit and ensure compliance with HSEQ requirements
• General tasks in work preparation and consistent compliance with safety, order and cleanliness standards
• Logistics tasks such as driving forklifts to supply plants with raw materials, loading trailers with filled raw materials, and connecting and disconnecting rail tank cars

• Completed training as a chemical plant operator (Chemikant) (m/f/d) or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in production, ideally in fully continuous production plants
• Strong interest in developing yourself, shown through independent learning and curiosity
• Great willingness to learn your way into technically demanding and extensive plant areas
• Strong teamwork and communication skills as well as willingness to compromise and empathy with colleagues and interfaces
• Structured, independent and reliable way of working and a high safety awareness, even in a large plant environment
• Good computer skills with standard software; experience with SAP is an advantage
• Fit to wear respiratory protection and ideally a licence for industrial trucks or forklifts
