About this Apprenticeship
In the Process Analytical Technology (PAT) area of Technical Site Management, you help shape the maintenance and further development of analytical measurement systems at the three NRW production sites Leverkusen, Dormagen and Uerdingen. You are part of a highly specialized team that ensures production plants run safely, efficiently and in compliance with the law.
What You'll Learn
- As the central contact for PAT measurement technology in your area, you secure Covestro's "License to Operate" through correct implementation of safety- and environment-relevant analytical measurements
- You are responsible for complete and correct documentation of PAT installations and ensure compliance with internal and external guidelines, including all inspection obligations
- If required, you independently lead PAT projects from concept to completion of documentation, including coordination of all internal and external trades and supervision of installation, testing and commissioning work
- During exceptional faults in complex process analysis systems, you support maintenance teams technically and carry out structured root cause analyses and PAT/AGR HAZOPs
- You take on the PAT owner role in investment projects, represent the maintenance perspective and help plan investment programs and the maintenance budget
- As coordinating specialist for all three NRW plants, you advise colleagues at other sites on specific analytical technology questions and actively contribute to the global PAT community (PATCOM)
- You actively drive the further development of PAT technology through market observation and piloting new measurement methods
Requirements
- You have completed a degree (Bachelor, Master or doctorate) in physics, chemistry or engineering, or alternatively a qualification as a technician or master craftsperson in electrical engineering
- Solid professional experience in process analytical technology, ideally in an industrial production environment
- You confidently apply sound knowledge of technical best practices and standards for plant maintenance and relevant regulations (e.g. VDE, explosion protection, Industrial Safety Regulation)
- You already have experience in technical leadership of teams or projects, along with strong cost awareness and a high degree of independence in organizing your work
- Strong communication and teamwork skills enable constructive collaboration with production, engineering, HSEQ and international partners
- Very good German and good English skills, spoken and written
