Mechanical Plant Engineer, Salary Included

Covestro is looking for a Mechanical Plant Engineer in Brunsbüttel to take technical responsibility for a complex production plant. The role combines plant support and development with collaboration across an international network of specialists and Technical Centers.

• Comprehensive plant support: Take responsibility for equipment, machinery and piping systems in your assigned plant. Ensure legally required inspections and deadlines are met while maintaining safety, availability, cost efficiency and quality.
• Strategic maintenance: Develop and implement maintenance strategies for the future, balancing reactive and proactive measures.
• Ensure compliance: Independently develop approaches that reliably meet technical and legal requirements, including when internal or external rules change.
• Take technical responsibility: Be responsible for your area during safety assessments, shutdowns and plant modifications under Management of Change.
• Continuously improve processes: Identify and implement improvements in maintenance processes, from maintenance plans to asset structures.
• Manage costs and budgets: Take responsibility for project and activity budgets, actively control costs and take suitable action when spending differs from plans.
• Develop technology: Share your technical expertise across plants and sites and work closely with Technical Centers to continually improve technologies and standards.

• You have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a similar technical field. Alternatively, you are a qualified technician with extensive, solid engineering experience.
• You have relevant experience in engineering, maintenance or production, ideally in the chemical, petrochemical or a similarly demanding process industry.
• You understand technical standards, best practices, maintenance strategies and asset management and can apply them confidently to complex plants.
• You approach complex technical problems in a structured, solution-focused way. When handling several topics at once, you set clear priorities and maintain an overview.
• You show sound technical judgement, initiative and clear decision-making skills and take responsibility for your work.
• You communicate confidently, clearly and respectfully with production, engineering, maintenance and other teams.
• You present technical positions convincingly while giving equal attention to safety, plant availability, quality and cost efficiency.
• You speak fluent German and can communicate confidently in English in an international technical environment.
