Plant PCT Engineer / Process Control Engineer, Salary Included

At Covestro in Brunsbüttel, you will take responsibility for process control engineering at a polyurethane production plant. You will develop lasting solutions for safe, cost effective plant operations and advance process automation.

• You oversee process control engineering for a production plant and take responsibility for the operation of its electrical systems, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, inspection deadlines and safety standards.
• As the responsible qualified electrician, you ensure that electrical installations meet current technical requirements and their documentation stays up to date.
• You develop long term maintenance strategies and improve existing approaches to sustainably increase plant availability, safety and economic efficiency.
• You plan and coordinate investment projects in process control engineering, from technical design and implementation to proper documentation.
• You identify opportunities for improvement and develop technical solutions to continuously improve existing plants and processes.
• When technical faults occur, you investigate their causes, perform systematic fault analysis and develop solutions for reliable plant operations.
• You work closely with production, maintenance and other departments and contribute your expertise to projects involving different disciplines.
• You manage external engineering firms and ensure that technical requirements, quality standards and project goals are met.

• You have a degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or a comparable subject. Alternatively, you have an advanced technician qualification and many years of relevant professional experience.
• You have at least five years of professional experience in engineering, maintenance or production, ideally in the chemical industry or a comparable industrial setting.
• You have experience contributing to or leading technical projects and/or plant turnarounds.
• You understand technical standards, best practices and modern maintenance concepts, and know what matters for safe and reliable industrial plant operations.
• You meet the professional requirements or have the necessary competence to take responsibility for the operation of electrical systems.
• You think analytically and plan ahead, consider costs and economic efficiency, and develop practical solutions to complex technical challenges.
• You work in a structured way, set clear priorities and keep track of several tasks at once.
• You communicate clearly and persuasively, enjoy teamwork and have experience providing technical direction for projects and working with different contacts.
• You have good spoken and written German and English.
