Dual Study Mechatronics

Start of studies: October 2026 | The theory and practice phases alternate approximately every 3 months. The theory phases take place at the DHBW Stuttgart Campus Horb, the practice phases in Stuttgart.

• During the varied practical phases, you gain insights into the tasks and activities of our central specialist departments and branches
• You get to know the equipment and tools, as well as their development and production, which are required and used as part of the extensive service portfolio
• You will be taught the mechanical and electrical engineering fundamentals in the field of device development, from feasibility analysis through development and production of the prototype and pre-series device to testing and series introduction
• In our laboratories for material and material testing, calibration and product certification, you deepen your learned fundamentals for the mechatronics degree
• For project, study and bachelor theses, the DEKRA specialist departments provide innovative and attractive topics in which you can apply the acquired knowledge

• General or subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences including DHBW aptitude test, where applicable successfully completed advanced training including DHBW counseling interview (mandatory at Campus Horb)
• Good school leaving certificate, especially good grades in mathematics, physics and technology
• Interest in holistic development of new devices from problem definition to small series
• Ideally a completed apprenticeship and/or experience in design and development
• Enjoy ever new and changing tasks as well as fun working in a team and on the challenge of individual projects
