Abitur Programme: Apprenticeship Train Traffic Controller - Railway Operations Specialist 2027

2-year apprenticeship as a railway worker in train traffic control at DB InfraGO AG in Regensburg, with vocational school in Landshut. You work in a signal box, control train traffic, operate points and light signals, and stay in contact with train drivers by radio. After the apprenticeship you can continue training for two years as a railway operations specialist (Fachwirt:in für den Bahnbetrieb), reaching a level equivalent to a bachelor's degree.

• You get familiar with working in a signal box
• Getting to know and operating different signal box technologies
• Basics of railway operations and how everyone involved works together
• You learn to set routes (track, points, signals) for trains correctly and so enable safe, punctual and smooth arrival and departure at a station
• Communication and coordination with colleagues in the signal box, train drivers and control centres is part of your daily work

• You have successfully completed your (technical) Abitur and are or were until recently enrolled at a technical college or university
• Your German skills are at least B2 level
• You are known for a focused and reliable way of working
• You like taking responsibility and also make decisions
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are a matter of course for you
