Mitteldeutsche Eisenbahn GmbH has been active in nationwide rail freight transport for over 25 years with 360 employees. Our focus is on providing transport services for the automotive, chemical and building materials industries as well as intermodal transport and the mining industry. At locations in three federal states we provide industrial railway services for the chemical and cement industries. Our workshops complement the product portfolio. As of 01.08.2027 we are looking for you as an apprentice Railway Operator in Operational Service with specialization Locomotive Driver/Transport (m/f/d). Apprenticeship contents: - Teaching the basics of railway operations, i.e. what belongs to a railway operation - Getting to know the rulebook, i.e. according to which regulations railway operations are conducted in Germany and Europe - Teaching basics of vehicle maintenance, i.e. at what intervals vehicles are serviced and inspected - Planning of train services, i.e. what must be considered in planning transport services; according to which criteria resource deployment occurs (planning of personnel and vehicles, route planning, ordering of train paths) - Special features of environmental and occupational safety as well as transport of dangerous goods - Inspection of wagons and brakes, i.e. how a brake test is performed, types of brake tests, how railway wagons are inspected and what special features exist for individual wagon types - At the end of the apprenticeship, acquisition of the locomotive driver's license

Teaching the basics of railway operations, i.e. what belongs to a railway operation. Your profile: - You have completed your secondary school diploma with very good to good results, especially in mathematics and physics. - You have enthusiasm for technology. - You are interested in the topic of railways, do not shy away from taking responsibility and are highly reliable. - In difficult situations you keep calm and act thoughtfully. - In addition, the activity as a locomotive driver requires special medical and psychological prerequisites, which you must prove in corresponding examinations before the start of the apprenticeship.
