Track Construction Apprenticeship 2027

Apprenticeship with DB Bahnbau Gruppe GmbH in Freiburg im Breisgau starting on August 30, 2027. You work on construction sites with a track construction team, learn to use machinery and modern technology, and help build and maintain railway tracks.

• Construction sites instead of an office: Work with real machinery and make sure the rails are positioned correctly
• Heavy machinery: Learn to use a power cutter and receive support to pass your exam
• Teamwork and technology: Work on construction sites with your track construction team, measure routes, install rails and use the latest technology
• Varied work: Check equipment, replace track ballast and start new construction projects, with different tasks each day

• You have successfully finished school, or will soon, and your school qualification is recognized in Germany
• Your German is at least B2 level; applicants with B1 German are offered an online B2 language course before the apprenticeship starts
• You prefer working outdoors to sitting at a desk
• You are motivated and reliable
• You enjoy teamwork and practical work
• You welcome the variety of different work locations, working hours and night shifts
• Being at least 18 when the apprenticeship starts is an advantage
