Apprenticeship Track Layer 2027

Starting 1 September 2027 we are looking for you for the 3-year apprenticeship as a track layer (f/m/d) for DB InfraGO AG. You will complete your apprenticeship at one of the following practical locations: Freiburg im Breisgau, Haltingen, Offenburg or Rottweil. The deployment locations are within walking distance of the station. In addition, you attend vocational school and training workshop in block periods alternately. These are located in Ludwigshafen (Rhine). There you will be provided with a free dormitory place. Your train journeys there are also covered by us, so you can always travel home on weekends. You are currently still at language level B1? No problem. We support you and offer you the opportunity to take part in a free online language course from January to July 2027. This will bring you to language level B2 and you can start your professional future with us.

You work with your team outdoors on construction sites on our tracks Together you lay new rails and switches, inspect everything for damage and replace defective parts With the help of modern machines you renew the ballast under the tracks You pay close attention to all measurements – so that the trains run smoothly and safely later During your apprenticeship as a track layer you are already an important part of the team and ensure every day that our trains are on the move reliably

You have successfully completed (or will soon complete) school and your school qualification is recognized in Germany Your German language skills correspond to at least level B2 (for applicants with B1 level we offer a B2 online language course before the start of training) Sitting at a desk is not for you – you prefer to work outdoors You are motivated and reliable You enjoy teamwork and like to pitch in Different work locations and working hours as well as night shifts are a welcome change for you

For the success of your training we provide the best conditions: You will receive a mobile device from us that you can use for learning and privately. We offer you 16 free trips within Germany per year and further travel discounts such as the DB Job Ticket for your daily commute. In addition, there are favorable travel options for family and friends. We support you in settling into your new city! If you have to commute more than 2.5 hours daily from your previous place of residence and rent a closer apartment, you will receive a rent subsidy of up to 400 € per month from us.
