About this Apprenticeship
- What awaits you in your apprenticeship:
- You work with your team outdoors on construction sites on our tracks
- Together you lay new rails and switches, check everything for damage and replace defective parts
- With the help of modern machines you renew the ballast under the tracks
- You pay close attention to all measurements being correct – so that trains later run smoothly and safely
- During your apprenticeship as a track layer you are already an important part of the team and ensure every day that our trains run reliably

Requirements
- You have successfully completed (or will soon complete) school and your school qualification is recognized in Germany
- Your German language skills correspond to at least B1 level
- Sitting at a desk is not for you – you prefer to work outdoors
- You are motivated and reliable
- You enjoy teamwork and like to pitch in
- Different work locations and working hours as well as night shifts are a welcome change for you

- Free travel: We offer you 16 free trips within Germany per year and further travel discounts such as DB Job Ticket for your daily commute. In addition, there are affordable travel options for family and friends.
- Rent subsidy: We support you in settling into your new city! If you have to commute more than 2.5 hours daily from your previous place of residence and rent a closer apartment, you get a rent subsidy of up to 400 € per month from us.
- Takeover: After your successful completion you receive an offer for takeover at DB.
- Attractive remuneration: Depending on the apprenticeship year between 1,324 Euro and 1,531 Euro per month plus Christmas bonus. * Remuneration amounts valid from 01.07.2026. Employment conditions apply to the vast majority of apprentices in the DB Group.
- DB Youngster Community: DB Youngster Community – Experience exciting workshops, cool events, community trips and much more with other apprentices and dual students.
