About this Apprenticeship
You work with your team outdoors on construction sites on our tracks Together you check rails, sleepers and switches for damage and replace broken parts or carry out demolition work and winter service Using modern machines you renew the ballast under the tracks You pay close attention to all measurements being correct – so that trains run smoothly and safely later During your apprenticeship as a track layer you are already an important part of the team and ensure every day that our trains run reliably
Requirements
- You have successfully completed (or will soon complete) school and your school leaving certificate is recognized in Germany
- Your German language skills correspond to at least B2 level (for applicants with B1 level we offer a B2 online language course before the apprenticeship starts)
- Sitting at a desk is not for you – you prefer working outdoors
- You are motivated and reliable
- You enjoy teamwork and like to pitch in
- Different work locations and working hours as well as night shifts are a welcome change for you

- Attractive remuneration Depending on the apprenticeship year between 1,324 Euro and 1,531 Euro per month plus Christmas bonus. * Remuneration amounts valid from 01.07.2026. Employment conditions apply to the vast majority of apprentices in the DB Group.
