Apprenticeship Construction Mechanic in the Rail Network 2027

DB InfraGO AG is looking for apprentices starting 1 August 2027 for the 3.5-year apprenticeship as a construction mechanic (f/m/d) at the Bautzen site. The vocational school is in Dessau-Roßlau near the Anhalt-Arena. The training workshop is in the DB vehicle maintenance plant at Dessau-Süd station. If certain conditions are met, DB supports longer travel routes and accommodation (for example financially). The selection process includes an aptitude examination.

• Basics of metalworking, e.g. turning, drilling, milling and grinding
• You get to know the properties of materials and how to assess and select them
• Production of components and workpieces according to technical documents
• You learn how to commission and maintain structures (e.g. bridges)
• Work safety and environmental protection are further topics

• You have (soon) successfully finished school and your school diploma is recognized in Germany
• Your German skills are at least B2 level (for applicants with B1 level we offer an online B2 language course before the apprenticeship starts)
• You have manual skills and spatial awareness
• Your math skills are good and you enjoy working with numbers
• You are known for a committed, careful and reliable way of working
