Apprenticeship Train Driver in Regional Transport 2027

Starting 1 September 2027, we are looking for you for the 3-year apprenticeship as a train driver (railway operations specialist, train driver and transport) (f/m/d) at DB Regio AG in Singen (Hohentwiel). The vocational school is the Richard-Fehrenbach-Gewerbeschule in Freiburg. A suitability examination is part of the selection process.

• You start with the basics: learn what signals mean, how a train works and what it takes for regional transport to run safely
• You train in the simulator and later in the real driver's cab, always with trainers at your side
• Prepare regional trains, assemble them for trips and carry out technical checks
• You learn the rules for safe rail traffic and practice staying calm in special situations and making decisions
• When operations change, you inform your customers clearly and competently

• You have (soon) successfully finished school and your school qualification is recognized in Germany
• Your German is at least level B2
• You find technology exciting and like understanding how things work
• You stay calm when it matters, can take responsibility, make decisions and are reliable
• Working weekends and public holidays is fine for you
