Apprenticeship Train Traffic Controller 2027

From 15 August 2027, DB InfraGO AG is looking for trainees at its Chemnitz site for the 3-year apprenticeship as a railway worker in train traffic control (m/f/d). You work in a signal box, watch trains, set signals and switches, and stay in contact with train drivers. The vocational school is in Schkeuditz (near Leipzig). DB supports longer commutes under certain conditions.

• Your colleagues show you step by step how to operate the technology in a signal box correctly
• You learn when to press the right buttons to switch signals (traffic lights) or points (crossings for changing tracks)
• You are often in contact with other staff in train traffic control and control centres, and with train drivers
• You are an important part of the team and enable passengers to travel safely and on time

• You have (soon) successfully finished school and your school certificate is recognised in Germany
• Your German is at least B2 level (for applicants with B1, we offer an online B2 language course before training starts)
• You stay calm and keep an overview even in demanding situations
• You gladly take responsibility and work with focus
• You are a team player and reliable
• You are willing to work in shifts
