Apprenticeship Train Traffic Controller 2027

Starting 15 August 2027, DB InfraGO AG is looking for trainees for a 3-year apprenticeship as a railway worker in train traffic control at the Bautzen site. You work in a control center (signal box), watch trains on screens or boards and influence their movement with buttons, keys and levers, for example by setting signals and switches. The vocational school is in Schkeuditz near Leipzig. For longer travel distances, DB offers support, for example financial, if certain conditions are met.

• Your colleagues show you step by step how to operate the technology in a signal box correctly
• You learn when to press the right keys and buttons to switch, for example, signals (traffic lights) or switches (crossings for changing tracks)
• You are often in contact with other staff in train traffic control and control centers as well as train drivers
• You are an important part of our team and enable our passengers to travel safely and on time on our trains

• You have (soon) successfully finished school and your school diploma is recognized in Germany
• Your German is at least B2 level (for applicants with B1 level we offer an online B2 language course before training starts)
• You stay calm and keep an overview even in demanding situations
• You gladly take responsibility and work with focus
• You are a team player and reliable
• You are willing to work in shifts
