About this Apprenticeship
Train traffic control is an essential part of rail operations. From 15 August 2027, DB InfraGO AG is looking for trainees at its Stendal site for the 3-year apprenticeship as a railway worker in train traffic control (f/m/d). The vocational school is on Edisonstraße in Schkeuditz (near Leipzig). You don't work on the train but in a control center (signal box), watch the trains in your area and influence their journey, for example by setting signals and switches. You work with a small team close to the action and are constantly in contact with the train drivers.
What You'll Learn
- Your colleagues show you step by step how to operate the technology in a signal box correctly
- You learn when to press the right keys and buttons, for example to switch signals (traffic lights) or points (crossovers for changing tracks)
- You are often in contact with other staff in train traffic control and in control centers, as well as with train drivers
- You are an important part of our team and make sure our passengers have a safe and punctual trip on our trains
Requirements
- You have (soon) successfully finished school and your school diploma is recognized in Germany
- Your German skills are at least B2 level (for applicants with B1 level we offer an online B2 language course before the apprenticeship starts)
- You stay calm and keep an overview even in demanding situations
- You gladly take on responsibility and work with focus
- Teamwork and reliability set you apart
- You are willing to work in shifts
