Dual Study Programme in Industrial Engineering for Railway Operations with Apprenticeship 2027

A four-year dual study programme in industrial engineering for railway operations (B. Eng.) at DB InfraGO AG starts in Munich on 1 August 2027. At the same time, you will complete an apprenticeship as a train traffic controller and combine theory with practice.

• Learning how train traffic is controlled and gaining insight into modern signalling systems
• Completing the theory phases at FH Erfurt
• Gaining practical insight into train traffic control, timetable planning and construction site coordination
• Completing the apprenticeship in an electronic signal box after 2 years and gaining practical experience at the operations control centre in Munich
• Deepening your knowledge of railway operations and business at FH Erfurt during the rest of the degree
• Learning about infrastructure planning, transport economics and transport policy

• You have successfully completed or will soon complete the Abitur or advanced technical college entrance qualification, or you have an equivalent vocational qualification
• Applicants with vocational qualifications must meet the requirements for enrolment at FH Erfurt
• Mathematics and physics are your favourite subjects
• You have a strong interest in railway operations and economic and technical systems
• You keep a cool head in difficult situations and have good coordination skills
• You work with concentration and communicate well
• You are willing to work shifts and, after the apprenticeship, also on weekends and public holidays
• You are mobile
