Starting 01.08.2027 we are looking for you for the 4-year Dual Study Program in Industrial Engineering Railway Engineering (B. Eng.) at DB InfraGO AG in Freiburg im Breisgau, Bismarckallee 13. In parallel you complete an apprenticeship as a train traffic controller (f/m/d).

You learn how train traffic is controlled and gain insights into modern signal box technologies. Theory and practice phases alternate regularly You complete your theory phases at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt and gain practical experience in various signal boxes in the Freiburg network district In practice you gain insights into train traffic control, timetable planning and construction site coordination After 2 years you complete your training in the electronic signal box and gain practical experience in the Freiburg network district In the further course of study you deepen your knowledge at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt in railway engineering and economics and learn, among other things, infrastructure planning, transport economics and transport policy In the target function you take responsibility for a network district and are responsible for the management of employees as well as for ensuring safe and reliable railway operations

You have successfully completed (or will soon complete) your (subject-specific) university entrance qualification or possess an equivalent professional qualification (professionally qualified applicants must meet the respective enrollment requirements at FH Erfurt) Math and physics are your favorite subjects You have a strong interest in railway operations as well as economic and technical interrelationships You keep a cool head and have good coordination skills even in difficult situations Your concentrated way of working and good communication skills characterize you You are willing to work in shifts and (after training) also on weekends and public holidays You are also mobile

For the success of your training we provide the best conditions: You will receive a notebook from us that you can use for learning and privately. We support you in settling into your new city! If you have to commute more than 2.5 hours daily from your previous place of residence and rent a closer apartment, you will receive a rent subsidy of up to 400 € per month from us. Depending on the year of study, between 1,406 euros and 1,538 euros per month plus a study bonus of 4,000 euros.* Remuneration amounts are valid from 01.07.2026. The employment conditions apply to the vast majority of dual students in the DB Group.
