About this Apprenticeship
DB Fahrwegdienste GmbH is seeking career changers for railway construction site safety in Erfurt, starting as soon as possible. Retraining takes about one year, combines classroom learning with practical work, and prepares you to manage safety at railway construction sites independently. This is a permanent, full-time role. Qualified construction site safety specialists, safety lookouts and safety supervisors are also welcome to apply.
What You'll Learn
- Work with your team to prevent injuries at railway construction sites
- Warn people working on the tracks about approaching trains using various signals and modern warning systems
- Apply safety rules and instruct new safety lookouts as part of your daily work
- Communicate with your various contacts to keep operations running smoothly
- Take independent responsibility for organising and checking safety measures at construction sites
Requirements
- You are at least 18 years old and have a lower secondary school leaving certificate
- No specific previous experience is needed, but you feel confident taking responsibility for safety and are reliable
- You enjoy fresh air and working outdoors in all weather
- You can communicate confidently in spoken and written German
- You are flexible and comfortable with night work, weekend work and changing work locations
- A category B driving licence and your own vehicle are desirable but not required
