About this Apprenticeship
You make the difference in one of our more than 2,000 dm stores, the meeting place for brands and people. The special dm atmosphere is also felt by our customers at the checkout. Because our cashiers in retail know how to turn the moment of payment into a pleasant conclusion of the shopping experience at dm, so that our customers feel comfortable with us from the beginning to the end of their shopping. Your working hours are arranged with your dm store in various shifts (morning, noon, evening) from Monday to Saturday. Let's act together – inviting, empathetic and hands-on.
What You'll Learn
- Cashiering: At the checkout you come into contact with our customers, ensure a smooth completion of their purchases and a good feeling at the end of their dm visit.
- Customer orientation: With your openness and helpfulness you make shopping at dm a beautiful experience until the farewell.
- Convey promotions: You enjoy interacting with customers at the checkout and getting them excited about promotional campaigns.
- Advise: With competence and a smile you are there for our customers and leave none of their questions unanswered.
- Passport photo service: You produce passport photos for IDs etc. according to biometric specifications.

- Service orientation: With your empathy, commitment and joy in meeting people, you create the typical dm feel-good atmosphere with us.
- Competences: You handle cash safely and have a perfect command of the German language.
- Education and work experience: You have already completed your training. Whatever field you come from, we look forward to you as a career changer too.
- eID activation for passport photo service: To digitally transmit passport photos for our passport photo service in our stores to the citizens' offices, you need the eID activation on your ID document.
- Team spirit and motivation: So that daily routine in the dm store runs smoothly, you pitch in as a team and coordinate working hours together. When it gets stressful, your calmness can be relied upon.
- Flexibility: You actively participate in employee deployment planning to best align your working hours with the dm store's opening hours.
- Activity: Work in the dm store is sometimes strenuous. Your resilience and stamina help you.
