Apprenticeship and Advanced Training Program for a Retail Management Specialist (IHK) 2027

The combined apprenticeship and advanced training program lasts three years. After 18 to 24 months, you will earn the qualification as a retail sales assistant, followed by the Retail Management Specialist (IHK) qualification; after two years, you can also obtain the trainer certificate. You will learn day-to-day retail operations as well as business administration, marketing, work organization, accounting, logistics, sales and personnel management. Instruction is provided by certified training institutions.

Advise customers; manage sales, purchasing, ordering and stock operations; present goods in a sales-promoting way and contribute to assortment design and merchandising; plan and organize sales; operate cash registers and perform cash reconciliations; advise customers on services; manage your own area; determine and analyze business performance indicators; lead employees and train new apprentices; manage business processes.

Good university entrance qualification, Abitur or advanced technical college entrance qualification; determination; enjoyment of interacting with people and an open-minded attitude; sense of responsibility and commitment; interest in business processes and relationships; friendly manner, well-groomed appearance and good communication skills; team spirit and quick comprehension.
