Apprenticeship as Certified Retail Management Specialist (IHK)

This practical apprenticeship as a certified retail management specialist combines theory and practice as an alternative to studying business administration. It usually lasts three years and leads to qualifications as a retail salesperson, certified retail management specialist and trainer.

Plan and organise sales; procure goods and ensure availability; present products and implement services; determine and analyse business figures; help manage business processes; learn the full retail operation from purchasing and sales to marketing, advising and serving customers; participate in projects and attend a local retail school.

Pay of €1,250 in months 1 to 6, €1,350 in months 7 to 18 and €2,004 from month 19, valid from 1 September 2023; EDEKA seminars alongside retail school; crisis-resistant workplace; career and further-training opportunities; varied duties; trainee competitions; three qualifications consisting of a retail salesperson qualification, certified retail management specialist qualification and trainer certificate; guaranteed permanent employment subject to good performance.
