Product Safety Specialist

EOS, a global leader in industrial 3D printing, is seeking support for its Quality, Health, Safety & Environment team in Krailling. This full-time role covers product safety throughout the entire product life cycle and compliance with international regulatory requirements.

• Assess and ensure product safety throughout the entire product life cycle, from development and series production to product changes
• Ensure compliance with international regulatory requirements, such as CE, UL, ATEX and electromagnetic compatibility requirements
• Support stage-gate processes with sound safety assessments, risk assessments under EN ISO 12100 and recommendations for approval
• Coordinate test management with other departments in development and product maintenance projects, focusing on product safety and validation and verification under EN ISO 13849-1/-2
• Work closely with purchasing, quality, specialist departments, suppliers and external partners on matters including quality assurance agreements, third-party products, and testing and measuring equipment
• Analyze internal and external safety incidents, identify improvements through corrective and preventive action projects, prepare relevant technical standards for use within the organization, and advise internal departments and customers on product safety questions

• Completed degree in a technical subject or natural science, such as Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering, ideally with an additional qualification in product safety
• Alternatively, comparable technical vocational training with several years of relevant professional experience
• Experience in safety management at an international industrial company, ideally in machinery or plant engineering, additive manufacturing or laser technology
• Very good knowledge of relevant requirements and standards, such as the Machinery Directive, CE conformity, ATEX, functional safety and risk assessments
• An analytical and conceptual approach, confidence leading discussions in interdisciplinary groups, and ideally experience with CAPA projects and the 8D reporting method
• Very confident communication in German and English
