About this Apprenticeship
The control centre ensures smooth rail operations in the FlixTrain network by coordinating vehicles and staff and making operational decisions. As a dispatcher, you ensure stability, punctuality and customer satisfaction in long-distance travel, working with modern dispatch and communication systems in a team.
What You'll Learn
- Coordinating vehicles and drivers in daily rail operations
- Making operational decisions during disruptions, delays and special situations
- Documenting incidents and communicating with management and operations levels
- Actively informing passengers about deviations
- Working in regular shift duty (24/7) in a team
- Responsibility for quality and safety in operations
- Mentoring and supporting new colleagues during onboarding
Requirements
- Fluent German (at least C1), basic English is a plus
- Experience in dispatching, ideally in long-distance transport, railway operations or traffic control
- Resilience, decisiveness and assertiveness
- Structured, solution-oriented way of working
- Team spirit and communication skills with colleagues and train staff
- Confident use of PC, email and Office programs
- Willingness to work shifts (including nights, weekends and public holidays)
